Welcome! My name is Erin and I’m the face behind Beautiful Natural Awakening!

My passions include organic cooking, holistic wellness and natural living. I believe that what you put in your body is equally important as what you put on your body. A health challenge nearly 12 years ago changed the way I view, cook and eat food. I’ve come to realize that food is not only fuel, but also a way to heal one’s body from the inside out. This “aha moment” allowed me to move beyond the “I can’t”, to “I can” in the kitchen.

My goal in sharing my life and personal journey on this site is to inspire you to have your very own beautiful natural awakening. 

My Story

Growing up I ate the all-American diet: pizza, pasta, cookies, Kraft Macaroni and ice cream. Being a very picky eater from childhood into my adolescent years, fruits and vegetables were two food groups, not found in my nutritional repertoire.

It wasn’t until college that symptoms presented themselves and my body began speaking to me loud and clear. I started getting severe eczema, yeast infections, joint pain, anxiety, headaches, constipation, stomach bloating and the list goes on.  

Countless trips to the dermatologist, my PCP and the emergency room had left me feeling helpless; as the myriad of tests I underwent, all came back negative. I started to feel like they thought I was crazy, especially when I attempted to explain the "brain fog" I had experienced.

It wasn’t until I connected with a holistic nutritionist that things started to fall into place. She understood each and every one of my symptoms, and I finally felt heard. She used her intuitive skills and muscle testing, to determine that I had an overgrowth of yeast and parasites in my body. I also had an allergy to gluten, dairy and soy. With a health plan comprised of vitamins, herbal remedies and nutritional whole foods, I felt hopeful. 

My journey to wellness began the day I met my holistic nutritionist. It was a day I will never forget, and day I am forever grateful for. Twelve years later I continue to find creativity in the kitchen so that I am able to support my body with the foods that heal and fuel me daily.
